We are down to just a handful of days before we board a jet
to carry us back across the ocean to our first home. We are all over the moon excited to get there
and see you! We have missed family and
friends a great deal…We know that our time in the States will go by way too
fast, so we plan to treasure every moment of it!
As we being to pack up and say goodbye or see you later to
so many precious people that we have come to know and love here, in our second
home, we are reminded once again about just how painful goodbyes are. I tried to remind and reassure Dylan that
goodbyes are so painful because we love so well, and that is a gift from
God. If you don’t love people then
saying goodbye is easy. We should never
shy away from loving people well in the fear that one day we will have to say
goodbye.
We are especially emotional about three of the kids in our
youth group that have become so dear to us…like they are our own children. They passed their class twelve exams and so
now it is time for them to move in the direction of a career and post-high
school education. Two are going to train
with YWAM in Bangalore and the other will be attending classes in hopes of
getting a job with an airline. We are
really proud of these kids and we pray God’s hand will guide their every step. And we will surely miss their presence in our
lives and our youth group. Please join
us in praying for Gogou, Chingmi and Angamla, as they pursue God’s plan for
their lives.
Also, for those of you who are pet owners, you know how
difficult leaving a pet can be. It is an
especially sensitive issue for Dylan, since he lost his first dog less than a
year ago just after our returning from a trip.
Please pray for Dylan’s and Oreo’s hearts and minds to be at ease and
also for Oreo’s health and safety while we are away from him. Oreo is going to be lost without Dylan and
Delaney and Desirae to love on him for several months.
