Even though we are separated by an ocean and thousands of
miles, we were blessed with an amazing opportunity to celebrate our country’s
independence this weekend. The US Embassy here had a wonderful celebration including great
food, fireworks, bouncy houses, and a live band. We had to register ahead of
time on the Internet and bring our passports to verify our citizenship in order
to be admitted to the party. The fireworks were great and Sam and the kids had
a blast dancing but the highlight of the evening was the food! Yes, the food! We had real beef, imported from
Germany. We have been told that it is illegal to eat beef here
but since we were on American soil, at the Embassy, it was all good! Seriously, we feel so blessed to be able to
share with fellow citizens of the USA to celebrate our nation's independence. We hope you enjoy these pictures
from our celebration and know that even though there are many miles between us,
you and our country are always very near to our heart. We love you!
